About Me
Hi I’m Rebecca Throop! I’m a Unitarian Universalist who wants more UU content, especially for youth! I am currently a religion major at Rice University. I want to be a minister eventually, but my big-picture goal is to help people, and make the world a better place (stereotypical, I know). Church has always been a big part of my life, and learning about love and the difference it can make in the world has been so influential on me. I started the blog because I couldn’t find resources to plan youth worship, and then I couldn’t find other youth writing about youth experiences. As young people, our experience within Unitarian Universalism is so vastly different from the brick and mortar ministries the adults know so well. Now I am a young adult, and still navigating a faith that doesn’t want to give enough time and energy to young people.
What I’m up to
- I’m working on YUUP, a youth national project(Register here!)
- I’m very in to knitting! I’m currently working on my first sweater!
- I’m diving headfirst into my freshman year of college. Part of that means trying my hardest to not be a leader in every space, so this list looks a little short
